The taste of eating fresh buttermilk biscuit coming out of the oven is special.  It is also easy to make soft puffed and crunchy butter milk biscuits. 

Ingredients for ButterMilk Biscuits

▪Refined flour - 2 cups (220 grams)

 ▪Salted butter - 1/2 cup (100 grams)

 ▪Butter Milk - 3/4 cup

 ▪Baking Powder - 1 tsp

 ▪Baking soda - 1/4 teaspoon

 ▪Sugar - 1 tsp


Method - How to Make the Best Buttermilk Biscuits from Scratch

  • Cut the butter into small pieces.
  • First of all, mix refined flour, baking soda, baking powder and sugar i.e. all dry ingredients in a big bowl and mix well.  

  • Now add the chopped pieces of butter and break the butter by hand and mix it, add the butter milk and mix everything together and make the dough. 

  •  Dough for Butter Milk Biscuits is ready.


  • Give the dough a round shape by hand.  Put dry flour on a board and spread it, and put the dough on top of the dry flour, give it the right shape by hand and tap it to make a sheet about half an inch thick.  

  • Take a bowl or glass or any mold to cut the biscuits, and cut the biscuit by placing the mold on top of the sheet you have prepared.  Place the sliced ​​biscuits on the baking tray a little farther away. 

  •  After cutting the biscuit, collect the dough which is left, round again, round it in the same way, make a sheet, cut the biscuits and put them in the tray.  Apply a little butter over the bras on all the biscuits.

  • Preheat oven to 180 degree centigrade. Place the biscuit tray on the middle rack of the oven, preheat the oven to 180 degrees. 

  •  Set the oven for 15 minutes, check the biscuits when the time is up, the biscuits have turned golden brown.  

  • The biscuits are ready, if the biscuits are not browned then you can bake them for another 3-5 minutes.


Place the baked biscuits on the net and refrigerate it.  When the biscuits are completely cold, the crunchy butter milk biscuits are ready to be eaten.  Put butter milk biscuits in air tight container and keep eating for 15-20 days.

  • For butter milk biscuits, if you are using salted butter then do not put salt in it, if butter is unsalted then add half teaspoon of salt and mix.
  •  While baking the biscuits, first place the biscuits in the oven for 10 - 12 minutes and after that bake the biscuits by checking, there is a difference of time in different ovens for baking the biscuits.
